Clearing the cache, cookies and history can resolve many issues with the display of Web pages.
To clear cache, cookies and history for Internet Explorer® 7.0:
1. Close all Internet browser windows that may be open on your computer.
2. Click the Start button, select Programs or All Programs, then click Internet Explorer.
3. Click the Tools menu, then click Internet Options.
4. On the General tab, in the Browsing history section, click the Delete button.
5. In the Temporary Internet Files section, click the Delete files button to clear the cache.
6. Click the Yes button to confirm.
7. In the Cookies section, click the Delete cookies button, to clear cookies.
8. Click the Yes button to confirm.
9. In the History section, click the Delete history button to clear history.
10. Click the Yes button to confirm.
11. In the lower right, click the Close button to close the Delete Browsing History window.
12. Click the OK button to close the Internet Options window.
To clear cache, cookies and history for Internet Explorer® 6.0:
1. Close all Internet browser windows that may be open on your computer.
2. Click the Start button, select Programs or All Programs, then click Internet Explorer.
3. Click the Tools menu, then click Internet Options.
4. On the General tab, In the Temporary Internet files section, click the Delete Files button to clear cache.
5. Click the Delete all offline content box to place a check mark in it, then click the OK button for confirmation.
6. In the Temporary Internet files section, click the Delete Cookies button to clear cookies.
7. Click the OK button to confirm.
8. In the History section, click the Clear History button to clear history.
9. Click the Yes button to confirm.
10. Click the OK button to close the Internet Options window.
Clearing your browser footprints will help you to keep your computer run more efficiently.
To clear browser footprints, if using AOL® 9.1, AOL® 9.0 VR or AOL® 9.0 Security Edition:
1. Go to AOL® Keyword: Browser Settings. You can access this keyword only through the AOL® software.
2. Click the Clear My Footprints tab.
3. Click the Select Footprints to Clear button.
4. Click the footprint options you wish to clear, to place a check mark in it.
5. Click the Clear Selected Footprints button.
6. Click the Close button.
7. Click the Save button.
You can store Web pages you view on the AOL® service on your computer. This makes for faster Web browsing but takes up space and can result in your Web pages going out of date.
To clear the AOL® Web page storage cache using AOL® 9.0 Optimized:
1. On the AOL® toolbar, click the Settings icon.
2. Click the Index tab.
3. Click the Internet [Web] Options link.

4. In the Related Settings section, click the Internet Explorer Settings link.
5. In the Internet Options window, click the AOL Browser tab.
6. Click the Clear Storage button.
7. Click the Yes button.
8. Click the OK button.
9. Click the X button in the upper right.
The history drop-down menu on the upper right of the Navigation bar displays the lists of most recently visited AOL® areas or Web pages you have visited. You can delete this list (or toolbar history) if it becomes too long and confusing.
To delete the toolbar history using AOL® 9.0 Software:
1. Go to AOL® Keyword: Toolbar Settings. You can access this keyword only through the AOL® software.
2. To clear the toolbar history each time you sign off or switch screen names, click the Clear History Trail and Auto-complete after each time I Sign Off or Switch Screen Names box to place a check mark in it.
3. To clear the toolbar history, click the Clear History Trail Now button.
4. If you wish to clear the toolbar history trail, click the Yes button. Else, click the No button.
5. Click the Save button.
To delete the toolbar history using AOL® 8.0 Plus or AOL® 8.0:
1. On the AOL® toolbar, click Settings, then click Preferences.
2. Access the Toolbar & Sounds link.
Note: If offline, click Settings, click Preferences, then click the Toolbar & Sounds link.
3. To clear the History trail, each time you sign off or switch screen names, click the Clear History Trail and Auto-complete after each time I Sign Off or Switch Screen Names box to put a check mark in it.
4. To clear the toolbar history, click the Clear History Trail Now button.
5. If you wish to clear the toolbar history trail, click the Yes button. Else, click the No button.
6. Click the Save button.
7. Click the X button in the upper right.
